Our Story
We Met
We both decided to work EFY spontaneously and last minute! We met at an EFY session in Moab (Maddy was Scott’s assistant coordinator). Maddy got to tag along repelling, canyoneering, and white water rafting with Scott’s group! At the end of the week- we didn’t know each other very well, but we both really loved that week in Moab!

Dating
After EFY, Scott went back to Arizona, Maddy moved to Florida, and we were occasionally in touch. Maddy flew to AZ for 2 weeks for Thanksgiving with her family. We met up and talked for hours the night Maddy flew in. The next day, Maddy rested her head on Scott’s shoulder and Scott told Maddy he liked her. We spent a lot of time together and decided to date long distance right before Maddy flew back to Florida.
Dating
After EFY, Scott went back to Arizona, Maddy moved to Florida, and we were occasionally in touch. Maddy flew to AZ for 2 weeks for Thanksgiving with her family. We met up and talked for hours the night Maddy flew in. The next day, Maddy rested her head on Scott’s shoulder and Scott told Maddy he liked her 🙂 We spent a lot of time together and decided to date long distance right before Maddy flew back to Florida.
Long Distance
We Facetime a whole lot 🙂 Many of our Facetime dates include talking, laughing, battleship, scripture studies, word games, Geo Guesser, and more talking. We fly quite a bit as well, *cough* we’ve purchased over 40 flights. 😅 And when we’re together, we usually play a lot of pickleball, spend time with family, hike, and nap off some jet lag.
Long Distance

Proposal
Maddy was 95% sure she knew which weekend Scott was going to propose, but she had no idea how! Scott surprised her with the most romantic experience of her life. (Maddy’s words, not Scott’s haha). We had an incredible opportunity to ride in a helicopter (thank you Bishop!); we went above the Gilbert Temple and landed in the middle of the San Tan Mountains where Scott had a cute setup with photos and his journal entries. (thanks to some friends mountain biking it up there). Scott got on one knee, proposed, and Maddy said yes! We haven’t stopped smiling since 🙂

Hey, I’m Scott! I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta! Unpopular opinion: I don’t like pineapple on pizza… 😳But I did work at Little Caesars in my young years so I do have experience making pizzas! I’m a huge fan of Maddy, pickleball, volleyball, mountain biking, going to the gym, and making websites. Recently I’ve gotten into marketing and I love it (almost as much as I love Maddy). Anyway, if you’re at the wedding and I don’t know you, please come say hi! I know Maddy knows like a million people so I’m going to need people to talk to HAHA.Â
Hiiii! I’m Maddy, and I mostly grew up in Lindon, Utah. I love pineapple on my pizza, ranch, and eating any pizza Scott makes. 😊Some of my favorite things are Scott, pickleball (Scott + pickleball is the best!!), mountains, trying new things, snowshoeing, and making memories with people. After graduating from BYU in Experience Design, I moved to Orlando FL for work (but spend as much time as humanly possible in AZ haha) and am loving the corporate world! I can’t wait to see you all and meet more of Scott’s family & friends, so please come say hi!

Scott is moving from Arizona to join Maddy in Orlando! Maddy will continue working for AAA and Scott is looking for a new role in digital marketing. We plan to live there for a year or two, and you’re all welcome to visit! 😊 We may move closer to family, friends, and mountains sometime in the future depending on where life takes us!
